One of the most popular activities at The Miner's Cottage is the gold panning. Every year, hundreds of school children visit the cottage to learn a little about the history of gold discoveries in the North of Australia, and to have a go at panning like the prospectors from the past. Experienced staff teach the students to pan correctly, and the children get to take some gold away as a souvenir of their day. Groups of approximately 20 can be individually instructed. Bookings can be made directly to the cottage at the contact numbers on this site.
